Liquid Sand Gradient Tutorial
Hello again! Some might consider posting twice a day a little excessive but hey, I've got nothing better to do and if you're reading this than neither do you. Yes, I am not holding a bottle in this photo, but I did this a little while ago before I started taking proper posed photos so this is all I got. I did this quick gradient with two OPI Liquid Sand polishes and it turned out really sparkly and Elsa-ish, so they work as a Frozen mani too if that's what you're after. All you need for this look is two polishes and a small sponge!
What I used:
- OPI Ridge Filler Base Coat
- OPI Solitaire
- OPI Tiffany Case
- Make up sponge
- Nail polish remover and q-tips
1. Apply a base coat to protect your nails from stains and provide a smooth base for polish
2. Paint two coats of your lighter colour onto your nails as a base for your gradient
3. Using a make up sponge, dab a small amount of your darker colour (in my case, blue) two thirds of the way down the nail. Concentrate the blue polish near the tips to create the gradient (you might need to do a couple of layers)
4. Don't add a top coat or you'll ruin the textured finish, which is what Liquid Sand is all about, but if you want a smooth surface then go ahead and finish with a top coat
5. Sponging can be messy, so clean up around your nails with polish remover and either a brush or q-tips.
