Christmas Nail Art: Christmas Tree Tutorial

Hey everyone! I'm back with another Christmas design, this time much more Christmassy! In this design I've used two polishes from the new OPI Gwen Stefani Holiday Collection - this pretty gold shimmer 'Rollin' In Cashmere' and this absolutely stunning glitter 'Snow Globetrotter' that I'm holding in the pic. Read on for my tutorial!

What I Used:

- OPI Nail Envy Base Coat
- OPI Rollin' In Cashmere
- OPI Jade Is The New Black
- OPI Snow Globetrotter
- Scissors
- Tweezers
- Striping tape from bornprettystore
- Nail art brush #00 from winstonia
- Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
- Nail polish remover and cleanup brush

1. Apply a base coat to protect your natural nails from stains and provide a smooth base for polish.

2. Apply two coats of a gold polish and allow to dry completely. If your nails aren't completely dry the tape will pull on the polish and ruin your design, so be patient! A fast drying top coat will speed up the process.

3. Cut up some pieces of striping tape, some long (3-4cm) and some shorter ones (2-3cm). You'll need two longer pieces and three shorter pieces per nail. Once you've prepared all your tape, place two of the longer pieces in a 'V' shape on your nail to create a triangle space in the centre, making sure to press down near the cuticles so the polish can't seep under. Using the three shorter pieces, place them inside the triangle in a zigzag pattern.

4. Once all your tape is in place, carefully fill in the triangle with a green polish, going over the shorter zigzag pieces but not outside the main triangle. While the polish is still wet, slowly remove the tape with some tweezers or your fingers. You should be left with clean lines that form a green triangle with a gold zizag through the centre.

5. After the green polish has tried, add some glitter to your christmas trees with a small brush and a glitter polish and allow to dry.

6. Finally, add a top coat to seal in your design and clean up around your nail with a brush or a cottonbud dipped in polish remover/acetone.

All done! Let me know if you try it out for yourself, and I'd love to hear your feedback so feel free to leave a comment below. See you next time!
