Studded Christmas Tree Nails
Hey guys, and welcome to another Christmas nailart post! Today I have this super sparkly red and gold mani, with a christmas tree made out of studs for the accent nail. This design was inspired by @thenailtrail, and you can checkout her original design here. If you like this design and want to know how to do it for yourself, read my tutorial below :)
What I Used:
- OPI Ridge Filler Base Coat
- OPI The Spy Who Loved Me
- Revlon Sequins
- HK Girl Glisten and Glow Top Coat
- Round studs from bornprettystore
- Toothpick
- Nail polish remover and cleanup brush
1. Apply a base coat to protect your natural nails from stains and provide a smooth base for polish.
2. Paint your nails two coats of a red polish and allow to dry.
3. Using a gold glitter polish, gently brush some glitter onto the upper third of your nails, concentrating more glitter near the tip, and then seal it in with a top coat. Don't add any glitter to your ring finger.
4. For the accent nail, apply a layer of top coat for your studs to stick onto. Then, using a toothpick dipped in top coat/clear polish, and while your nail is still wet, pick up a large round stud and press it onto your nail right next to the tip in the centre.
5. Add another large stud on either side of your first one so you have a row of three. Next add two large studs horizontally on top of your row of three, and then one more large stud above your row of two to make a pyramid shape, making sure to leave a small space between the rows for the smaller studs.
6. Fill in the spaces between your large studs with smaller round studs, and add a final small stud at the top of your pyramid/tree. Once all your studs have been placed, apply a thick layer of top coat over your whole nail to seal in the studs.
7. Finish off your mani by cleaning up any excess polish around your nails with polish remover and a clean up brush or a cottonbud.
