2016 New Year's Nailart Tutorial
Hey guys! Here is a super last minute New Year's mani, just in time for New Year's Eve! I adore black and gold, and hadn't done glitter placement in a long time so this is what I came up with! To find out how to get this mani for yourself, read my tutorial down below :)
What I Used:
- OPI Ridge Filler Base Coat
- OPI Black Onyx
- OPI Don't Speak
- Glisten and Glow HK Girl Top Coat
- Gold hex glitter from bornprettystore
- Toothpick
- Nail polish remover and cleanup brush
1. Apply a base coat to protect your natural nails from stains and provide a smooth base for polish.
2. Paint your nails two coats of a black polish and allow to dry.
3. Add a thin coat of a fine gold glitter polish over the black for some extra sparkle.
4. Starting with your index finger, paint some clear polish or top coat (not fast-drying) onto the area of your nail where you want your first number to go.
5. Dip the tip of a toothpick in the clear polish and use it to pick up a piece of glitter. Working quickly so the polish on your nail doesn't dry, place your glitter pieces one by one onto the nail in the shape of the number 2. Try to get the pieces of glitter as close to each other as possible to achieve a smooth shape.
6. Repeat steps 4-5 on your remaining fingers but with the numbers 0, 1 and 6.
7. Finish off your mani with a generous layer of top coat to seal in the glitter, and clean up around your cuticles with polish remover and a brush or cottonbud.
I am really pleased with the way these turned out, what do you think? Feel free to leave any comments or suggestions down below, thanks for reading, and I'll see you next time!
